    DISHA Meeting Highlights Government Welfare Schemes

    Warangal: The Central and State governments have a responsibility to ensure that all welfare schemes reach the people who need them, said Mahabubabad Lok Sabha Member, P. Balaram Naik.

    On Friday, Balaram Naik chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Warangal. He instructed the administration to raise awareness among people about the welfare schemes and identify eligible beneficiaries.

    Balaram Naik also told officials to submit proposals for filling vacant Anganwadi helper positions. He further directed them to take action against fair-price shop dealers involved in rice smuggling. He asked the administration to fix pipeline leakages in Warangal to ensure water supply for all residents.

    During the meeting, Greater Warangal Mayor, Gundu Sudharani, mentioned that out of 108 projects under the Smart City Mission, 49 have been completed, and the remaining 59 are in progress. These projects are worth a total of Rs 945 crore. Warangal District Collector, Satya Sarada, added that the administration is working to implement welfare schemes for all distressed sections of society.

    MLC Baswaraj Saraiah highlighted the need for improving basic facilities in schools and asked the government to release funds for the completed works under the “Mana Ooru Mana Badi” program.

    Narsampet MLA, Donthi Madhava Reddy, requested the government to set up a Krishi Vignan Kendra (Agriculture Science Center) and reorganize schools based on student numbers. He also urged the government to ensure the completion of the AMRUT 2.0 project by March 2025 to provide drinking water to Narsampet.

    Wardhannapet MLA, K. R. Nagaraju, emphasized the importance of installing CCTV cameras in schools and connecting them to nearby police stations. He also requested the establishment of a primary health center in Warangal’s 14th Division.

    The DISHA committee also discussed various welfare schemes from both the Central and State governments, aiming to improve the lives of people in the district.
