Meeting on Fee Regulation Held in Karimnagar
A meeting on fee regulation in schools was held in Karimnagar on Tuesday. The discussion was led by Education Commission Chairman Akunoori Murali, and several key issues were addressed during the session.
One of the main points raised was the exclusion of low-fee budget schools from the purview of the District Regulatory Committee (DRC). It was suggested that private schools charging fees below ₹50,000 should not fall under the committee’s regulations.
Another important proposal was the categorization of schools across the state. This step would help improve the management and regulation of schools by dividing them into specific groups based on certain criteria.
The meeting also emphasized strict admission guidelines. Schools were advised not to admit students without a Transfer Certificate (TC) or a No Objection Certificate (NOC). Additionally, it was proposed that only state-level officials should have the authority to remove a student from the UDISE+ system, rather than mandal or district-level authorities.
To regulate fee collection, an RFC (Right to Fee Collection) system was suggested. Under this system, schools would only be allowed to collect fees displayed on their notice boards. It was also recommended that schools should be permitted to increase fees by up to 15% annually.
The meeting was attended by several notable figures, including TRSMA chief advisor Yadagiri Shekhar Rao, State working president Shiva Ratri, convener Yadagiri Ramana Rao, State spokesperson Jayasimha Goud, associate State president Venkanna, Medchal district president Nagaraju, State organizing secretary Balaraju, and Mancherial District general secretary Sreekanth Reddy, among others.
