The State government of Hyderabad has decided to distribute new digital cards to the beneficiaries of Aarogyasri. These cards will be given to them through public representatives in districts. A board meeting was held at the Aarogyasri Health Care Trust office, Jubilee Hills, under Health Minister T Harish Rao. The government has increased the Aarogyasri limit from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. Officials have been instructed to quickly complete the e-KYC process of beneficiaries. Rao also directed them to conduct medical audits of Aarogyasri cases by NIMS specialist doctors.

The ENT Hospital at Koti, which successfully performed 856 black fungus surgeries during Covid, will receive an additional incentive of Rs 1.3 crore. Currently, Koti ENT Hospital provides free cochlear implant surgeries for deaf and dumb children. A committee will be formed to make this service available in MGM Warangal as well. The government has increased the number of dialysis centres from three to 103, making it more convenient for kidney patients to access treatment within their constituency. The board has permitted the use of special software for online monitoring to improve the quality of dialysis services.

Aarogyasri now allows patients to use face recognition software for a more transparent service. This decision was made to overcome difficulties faced with the biometric system.
