On Monday, MLA A Laxman Kumar and MLC Jeevan Reddy attended the oath-taking ceremony for the new members of the Dharmapuri market committee governing body.
The newly appointed market committee chairman, C Lavanya Laxman, along with vice chairman Sanga Narsimhulu and other directors, took their oaths to officially begin their roles in the district market committee.
During the event, MLC Jeevan Reddy spoke about the delay in seeing the results that were expected after the Telangana movement. He assured that the Congress government is working towards achieving those goals, with MLA Laxman Kumar playing a key role in addressing the region’s problems.
Reddy also emphasized the importance of the market committee in ensuring that farmers don’t face difficulties. He urged the committee to bring any issues affecting farmers to the government’s attention.
MLA Laxman Kumar criticized the previous BRS government, stating that farmers had suffered under its rule. He particularly pointed out that K Eshwar, who was a minister at the time, did not help farmers who were being unfairly treated by rice millers.
Laxman Kumar highlighted that after the Congress party came to power, the government waived loans of up to Rs 2 lakh for farmers. In Jagtial district, 80% of the loan waivers have been completed, with the remaining 20% to be cleared soon.
Regarding irrigation projects, the MLA mentioned that the concerned minister has already been informed. The Pattipaka reservoir will be completed and made operational soon. He also promised that the Rolla Vagu project, which was delayed by the previous government due to rising costs, will be finished soon.
