Hyderabad: Telangana’s Director-General of Police (DGP), Dr. Jitender, announced on Friday that state-of-the-art boxing and cricket coaching centers will soon be established within the Telangana State Special Police (TGSP) department. These centers aim to elevate athletes to international standards. The DGP highlighted the success of Telangana sports stars, such as boxer Nikhat Zareen and cricketer Mohammed Siraj, both of whom have been appointed as Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs).
Dr. Jitender stated that the new coaching facilities will operate under the leadership of these accomplished athletes to train and inspire future talent. The announcement was made during the passing-out parade for the 1st Battalion at Yousufguda, where the DGP also praised the TGSP personnel for their critical role in maintaining law and order in Telangana and their contributions to other states.
The DGP further explained that the newly trained police personnel would take on additional responsibilities, such as combating drug trafficking and addressing cybercrime.
