Development work in Delhi gets green light from LG Saxena for tree relocation

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved the relocation of 96 and 107 trees from Arakpur, Moti Bagh, and Ashok Road. This is because there are major construction projects happening in those areas, such as railways and government offices. The Delhi Government, Environment Minister, and Chief Minister are working together to quickly clear these projects, as per the Lieutenant Governor’s demand for swift clearance. Previously, projects were being postponed for three to five years, but now they are being cleared in a matter of months.

In July, defense and railway projects were approved, and now the chief minister has requested approval for railway accommodation and central secretariat projects within the next three months. Along with relocating trees, different types of saplings are also being planted in Rampura, Shakur Basti, Madipur, and the NTPC Eco Park. These include trees like Neem, Amaltas, Peepal, Pilkhan, Gular, Banyan, and Arjuna.
