Delhi CM's Residence Investigated by CBI, Kejriwal Claims PM is Anxious

Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, responded to the actions of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and claimed that Prime Minister Modi is showing signs of nervousness. This response came after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) launched a preliminary investigation into alleged irregularities in the construction and renovation of Kejriwal’s new official residence in Civil Lines. Kejriwal emphasized that this inquiry is not an isolated incident, citing over 50 previous investigations conducted by the government.

Kejriwal stated that the initiation of the CBI’s preliminary enquiry indicates the Prime Minister’s anxiety. He mentioned that there have been more than 50 inquiries and 33 cases filed against him in the past eight years, but no evidence has been found. Kejriwal welcomed the fresh inquiry and expressed confidence that it will not yield any results.

In response to the CBI’s investigation, Kejriwal suggested that it was politically motivated and aimed at undermining him. He highlighted that previous investigations have not uncovered substantial wrongdoing, implying that they were more about political maneuvering.

On the other hand, the BJP welcomed the CBI’s preliminary enquiry and framed it as an opportunity to expose a “scam” related to the construction of Kejriwal’s luxurious bungalow. The BJP aimed to position themselves as advocates of transparency and accountability while insinuating that Kejriwal’s government had violated regulations during the construction process. The political rhetoric between the two parties escalated as they traded accusations and counter-accusations amidst this ongoing controversy.
