Defamation Case: KTR Testifies in Court, Claims Surekha's Remarks Were Hurtful

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao appeared in the Nampally city criminal court on Wednesday in a defamation case against Endowments Minister Konda Surekha.

KTR gave a statement in court saying that Surekha’s comments had seriously harmed him and his party. He mentioned that after people heard her remarks, they started calling him, and he was deeply distressed. He described the comments as “extremely dreadful” and said people who had known him for 18 years were also shocked.

When the judge asked KTR to specify the comments, he revealed that Surekha had falsely accused him of being a drug addict and hosting rave parties. He said these accusations were made without any evidence and urged the court to consider his statement since he couldn’t address every comment in detail.

KTR spent nearly half an hour giving his statement. The videos of Surekha’s comments were submitted to the court. The court then decided to postpone recording the statements of other witnesses until October 30.

Earlier, KTR had sent legal notices to Surekha, asking for an unconditional apology for repeating the same allegations. Since there was no response, he proceeded to file the defamation case.

Additionally, KTR has sent a legal notice to Union Minister Bandi Sanjay for making similar baseless and defamatory remarks. He warned that Sanjay must apologize within a week or face a defamation suit.
