The District Collector of Miryalguda, Dasari Harichandana, has instructed rice millers to meet the 2023-24 Vanakalam Season Custom Milling Rice (CMR) target by the end of April, in line with the state government’s guidelines. A meeting was held on Thursday at the RDO office in Miryalaguda, where the Collector emphasized the importance of reaching the target set for the season.
Currently, the CMR target stands at 4,000 metric tonnes per day, but only 50 percent of this target has been achieved so far. The Collector urged millers to ramp up production to reach 100 percent of the target without delay. She specified that up to 1,86,000 MTs of CMR should be provided, highlighting the potential for storing the grain in the upcoming season if the target is met.
Deputy Tahsildars have been tasked with overseeing the millers to ensure compliance with the directives. The Collector also reminded millers to procure grain from farmers without causing any disruptions and emphasized the need to maintain consistent rates during the 2023-24 Yasangi season. In a visit to Padmasree Rice Mill Industries, the District Collector inspected the CMR operations to assess progress towards meeting the target.
