David Warner, captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, has revealed the reason behind Delhi Capitals’ loss against his team in Match No. 40 of IPL 2023. Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Delhi Capitals by nine runs, with Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen scoring brilliant attacking fifties to lead their team to a total of 197/6 despite Mitchell Marsh’s four wickets.
During the post-match press conference, Warner said that losing wickets in the middle can be extremely difficult, and that his team was off a bit with the ball, though Marsh bowled fantastically. He added that Axar Patel is in good touch and for his team, it was about getting off to a good start and handling the spinners with the ball spinning back in.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have won three out of eight matches and are at the eighth spot in the points table, while Delhi Capitals have suffered their sixth defeat of the season and are at the bottom of the table. Marsh was the standout player for Delhi Capitals, scoring 63 off 39 and taking four wickets, but it was not enough as his team fell short by nine runs.
