Hyderabad: The Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Dana Kishore, visited several parts of the city on Friday to check on ongoing work. He instructed officials to complete the work on time to prevent any inconvenience to the public.
Dana Kishore also emphasized the importance of finishing pending projects, repairing damaged roads, and identifying areas prone to waterlogging. He specifically directed zonal Commissioners to focus on these tasks.
Given the likelihood of infectious diseases during the rainy season, Dana Kishore urged special attention to areas where garbage tends to accumulate within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). He visited locations such as Jubilee Hills Road No 45, Road No 70, Gautam Nagar, Deen Dayal Nagar, and Film Nagar, where garbage is often dumped. He ordered that garbage in these areas should be collected in two shifts to keep the surroundings clean.
The Principal Secretary instructed the SFA and sanitation workers to clear garbage promptly and ensure that the attendance of sanitation staff is recorded in a transparent manner. He also asked the workers to wear uniforms, hand gloves, and follow necessary protective measures.
Officials reported that there are 140 waterlogging points across the city. Dana Kishore has decided that areas with heavy traffic should be identified, and measures should be taken to manage traffic during the monsoon.
Zonal Commissioner Anurag Jayanthi, EE Vijay Kumar, Water Board GM Harishankar, and other officials were also present during the inspection.
