Cyberabad Police Return 570 Lost Phones to Their Owners

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police’s IT Cell and Social Media Team, with the help of the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR), successfully traced and recovered lost or stolen mobile phones on Friday. They handed over 570 mobile phones to their rightful owners, who had lost them during their daily activities.

Over the past eight months, the police have recovered a total of 2,696 mobile phones. Under the supervision of DCP Crimes K Narasimha, the team managed to recover 570 lost and stolen mobile phones in just the last 25 days. The total value of these recovered phones is estimated to be Rs 1.5 crore.

One of the recipients shared her experience, stating that she lost her mobile phone on a moving bus and thought she would never see it again. However, after reporting the loss at the nearest police station, she was pleasantly surprised when the police swiftly recovered and returned her phone. She expressed her gratitude for the police’s remarkable efforts.

Another recipient, who lost his mobile phone while riding his bike, recounted how he went to the Jagadgirigutta police station to file a complaint. The police received him courteously and assured him that they would recover his phone. To his relief, the police soon informed him that his mobile had been found, and it was returned to him shortly after. He expressed his happiness and gratitude for the police’s prompt action.

DCP Narasimha praised the efforts of the CCRB, CCS teams, IT Cell, Social Media team, and all other officers involved in the successful recovery of the mobile phones.
