Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police held a meeting on Wednesday to improve security and coordination between private security agencies and the police. The aim was to enhance public safety. The meeting took place at the Cyberabad Commissioners office and had representatives from 145 private security agencies in attendance.

During the meeting, DCP SB Sai Sri highlighted the important role that private security agencies play in helping the police prevent crime and protect the community. The DCP stressed the need for these agencies to strictly follow the rules set out in the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act (PSARA) of 2005. The discussion focused on important guidelines such as getting the proper licenses, wearing uniforms, keeping records, and providing proper training to staff.

Currently, there are 355 licensed private security agencies working in the Cyberabad area. All their personnel work in unarmed positions. The police advised these agencies to report any criminal activity they come across immediately, so that the authorities can take quick action.

ADCP CSW Srinivas Rao gave an overview of the Cyberabad Commissionerate’s large jurisdiction, which covers 3,644 square kilometers. This includes both urban and rural areas in the districts of Ranga Reddy, Medchal, Sangareddy, and Hyderabad. The area is managed through five law and order zones, 42 police stations, and 16 traffic police stations. There are also special units like the Special Branch, CCS, SOT, women and child safety wing, and the economic offences wing.

The meeting was attended by Hyderabad CSW ADCP Giriraju, representatives from several security agencies, and other officials.
