Cultural Ratha Yatra Unites Thousands Ahead of February 7 Event

A Ratha Yatra was organized in Gadwal to bring together and inspire the Madiga sub-communities through their artistic traditions. The event was led by Joint District Convener Dappu Swami, District President Charan Madiga, and Bizzaram Tirumalesh. The yatra was part of preparations to ensure the success of the Lakh Dappu and Thousand Voices program, scheduled for February 7 in Hyderabad. The yatra reached Ieeja town, where various activities were conducted to engage the community.

The procession began with a floral tribute to the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a central figure of equality and justice. The participants then honored the statue of Babu Jagjivan Ram in the SC Colony. Following these tributes, a cultural team performed traditional songs and dances, which emphasized unity and raised awareness about the community’s heritage.

Many prominent leaders and representatives took part in the event. Those present included MSP District Convener Ieeja Raju Madiga, MRPS District Convener Pogula Rajesh Madiga, Municipal Chairman Chinna Devanna, MEO Ramulu Dayal, and Congress Party District Spokesperson Minor Babu. Other participants included activists and leaders like Gajji Dev Raju, SP Hanumanth, Anjaneyulu, Nagaraju, BJHPS District President Ashwa Marenna, and TDP Representatives Dr. Raju and Anji.

The event also saw contributions from MSF Leaders Charles, Dandora Prasad, and Maheshwari, as well as community representatives such as Pulikal Vijay Kumar, Mittadoddi Emmanuel, Chagadona Thimman, Balgar Mukkeranna, and Gattu Esanna. Their participation showcased the strong support for this cultural initiative.

The residents of SC Colony actively joined in the program, appreciating the effort to preserve their cultural identity. The cultural performances highlighted the importance of protecting the community’s heritage and aspirations, inspiring residents to take pride in their roots.

This initiative is a step toward the larger goal of ensuring the Lakh Dappu and Thousand Voices program in Hyderabad becomes a grand success. The program aims to revitalize cultural practices and foster unity within the Madiga sub-communities, marking a significant milestone in their journey toward empowerment and solidarity.
