CPM Leader B.V. Raghavulu Opposes One Nation-One Election Idea

B.V. Raghavulu, a senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), has spoken out strongly against the “One Nation-One Election” proposal. He described the idea as an authoritarian system crafted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to him, the proposal poses a threat to India’s democratic structure.

Raghavulu argued that implementing this concept, which involves holding elections for the Lok Sabha and state assemblies simultaneously, would harm transparency in the electoral process. He pointed out that combined elections, often referred to as “Jumili Elections,” could compromise fairness and the integrity of the democratic system.

The CPM leader also called on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to oppose the “One Nation-One Election” initiative. He urged the party to take a firm stand against what he sees as a move that erodes democratic values. Raghavulu’s comments have intensified the debate over this proposal, as many political leaders continue to raise concerns about its potential impact on India’s electoral framework.
