CPI(M) Leader Demands Immediate Release of Promised Funds for Farmers

Gadwal: CPI(M) District Secretary A. Venkataswamy has urged the Telangana government to immediately release the promised Rs 15,000 per farmer under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. On Thursday, he criticized the government for failing to fulfill its election promises and neglecting the welfare of farmers.

Venkataswamy reminded the public that during the Congress party’s election campaign, it was announced that farmers would receive Rs 15,000 in their accounts. This amount was supposed to include Rs 7,500 per acre for both Kharif and Rabi seasons. However, the recent cabinet meeting approved only Rs 12,000 (Rs 6,000 per acre), which he argued was inadequate and unfair to the farmers.

The CPI(M) leader demanded that the government release the full Rs 30,000 (Rs 15,000 for each season) as pledged, without any further delays. He warned that public frustration was growing due to the government’s failure to meet its commitments.

Venkataswamy also raised concerns about the unresolved water issues in Alampur. He criticized the government for prioritizing political disputes over finding solutions to provide water for irrigation. He called on the authorities to act swiftly and address the water crisis faced by farmers in the region.

Finally, he urged the government to focus on fulfilling its promises and ensuring water supply for agriculture. He appealed to political leaders to stop misleading farmers and work toward their welfare.
