Former state finance minister and senior CPI(M) leader, T M Thomas Isaac, has dismissed allegations made by Congress MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan regarding Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter, Veena T, and her company’s involvement in “political funding.” Isaac argues that Kuzhalnadan’s claims are baseless and merely an attempt to deflect attention from his own alleged wrongdoings, including the accumulation of disproportionate wealth.
Kuzhalnadan had accused Veena’s IT company, Exalogic Solutions Private Limited, of not fully paying the Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) on the funds received from private mineral company Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd. He referenced a news report that claimed CMRL had made “illegal payments” of Rs 1.72 crore to Veena without receiving any software solutions in return.
Isaac took to Facebook to defend Veena’s company, stating that both her company and the private mineral company are legitimate entities with GST registration, and the payment was made through bank accounts. He pointed out that Kuzhalnadan’s claim about the IGST implies that the payment from the private company was indeed for services rendered.
Isaac challenged Kuzhalnadan to apologize if it is proven that Veena’s company did pay the IGST. A K Balan, another senior CPI(M) leader, had previously made a similar demand. However, Kuzhalnadan reiterated his belief that Veena’s company had not fully paid the IGST. He stated that he would apologize if Veena’s company could provide evidence of filing the IGST and show the invoice.
In summary, Isaac has refuted Kuzhalnadan’s allegations against Veena T and her company, arguing that they are unfounded. He has challenged Kuzhalnadan to apologize if it is proven that the company did pay the IGST.
