Controversy Arises from CM Revanth Reddy's Overseas Trip

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is visiting the United States and South Korea, and this trip has caused some controversy. The main issue is the signing of agreements with various companies. A Facebook group called “Friends of Congress USA,” which has about 4,800 followers, wrote an open letter. They want Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to check these agreements for any possible conflicts of interest.

The situation became more controversial when it was found out that one of the companies, Swachh Bio, is linked to the Chief Minister’s brother, Anumula Jagadeeshwar Reddy. This company is set to invest ₹1,000 crore in Telangana. Additionally, another company involved in these agreements has no online presence, which has raised concerns about its trustworthiness.

On this trip, Chief Minister Reddy is accompanied by IT and Commerce Minister D. Sreedhar Babu and several officials. Critics have pointed out that there might not have been enough careful examination of these agreements. The “Friends of Congress USA” group has also criticized IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, who has faced other allegations in the past and is now accused of being involved in the current issues.

The main goal of the delegation’s international tour is to attract investments in fields such as electric vehicles, life sciences, healthcare, and artificial intelligence. Chief Minister Reddy’s involvement is supposed to help boost investor confidence. However, some political experts are questioning whether his direct involvement is the right approach, especially compared to how the previous administration handled such matters.

The delegation’s tour will continue with planned visits to Seoul, New Jersey, New York, and Dallas, and it is scheduled to end on August 11th.
