Contractors of the GHMC protested at the civic body’s headquarters in Hyderabad on Monday, demanding payment of approximately Rs 1,300 crore in dues that have been pending for over a year. They gathered at the Contractors’ Association on the GHMC premises and announced that they would halt all civil and monsoon-related works until they were paid.
The contractors were frustrated that the previous government had completed the works but did not settle the bills. They called on CM Revanth Reddy to intervene and help clear their pending bills. The contractors emphasized the need for their payments to be processed promptly to ensure the smooth continuation of their work.
