Former minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao has officially joined the Congress party in Hyderabad. He plans to demonstrate his political strength in his own district by holding a large public meeting in Khammam town. Nageshwara Rao aims to contest from the Paleru assembly constituency, where he lost to BRS in the 2018 assembly election. Additionally, a group of his supporters will also be joining the Congress party soon.
Tummala’s joining of the Congress party is expected to strengthen the party’s presence in Khammam district and improve their chances of winning more seats in the upcoming elections. The recent addition of former MP and BRS leader P Srinivas Reddy to Congress has already caused a political sensation in the district. Now, with the inclusion of senior leader Nageshwara Rao, the Congress party hopes to consolidate its position throughout the entire district. Many senior BRS leaders have already joined Congress, and more are expected to follow suit soon. TPCC President A Revanth Reddy has been in talks with district and constituency-level leaders in Khammam, inviting them to join the party before the elections. The goal is for the Congress party to secure all 10 assembly seats in the Old Khammam district, which has a significant tribal voter population.
