In Siddipet, Congress workers attacked the camp office of former minister and MLA T Harish Rao. The incident occurred amidst growing political tension after Harish Rao challenged the Congress party to implement its promised six guarantees and 420 assurances, including farm loan waivers, by August 15. He also stated that he would resign from his MLA position if the Congress succeeded in fulfilling these promises.
A group of Congress activists, led by constituency in-charge Hare Krishna, stormed Harish Rao’s camp office. The group allegedly vandalized the office by breaking down the gate and tearing down banners with Harish Rao’s image. The attackers shouted slogans against Harish Rao, accusing him of failing to deliver on his promises.
Harish Rao condemned the attack, calling it undemocratic. He also criticized the police for providing protection to the attackers instead of stopping them. Harish Rao raised concerns about public safety, questioning how citizens could feel secure if even an MLA’s office was not protected. He urged the Director General of Police (DGP) to take immediate action to address the situation.
