Hyderabad: Congress MP Mallu Ravi criticized the BJP for not fully understanding the importance of ‘independence’. He questioned why BJP leaders decided to boycott the Prajapalana celebrations, which are set to take place at Public Gardens.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan, Ravi, who is the MP from Nagarkurnool, explained that September 17 is observed as Praja Palana Day. This day marks the merger of the former Hyderabad state with India, signifying the triumph of democracy over monarchy.
He shared that invitations had been sent to all BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Ravi expressed disappointment that BJP leader Kishan Reddy declined the invitation, especially since Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy personally sent it to him.
