    Shadnagar: Minister Seethakka Highlights Women’s Welfare Initiatives

    The Minister for Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare, Seethakka, emphasized that a state’s prosperity depends on the happiness of its women. She assured that the Congress government places women’s welfare as a top priority. On Saturday, she attended an event in the Shadnagar constituency as the chief guest to inaugurate several development projects.

    Minister Seethakka, accompanied by Shadnagar MLA Veerlapalli Shankar and Kalwakurthy MLA Kasireddy Narayanareddy, unveiled several key projects. In Madhurapur village, Farooqnagar mandal, she inaugurated the Women’s Federation Building, which cost ₹35 lakh, and a Community Hall built at ₹15 lakh. Additionally, she laid the foundation stone for multiple road projects, including a BT road from Kammadam to Sheriguda via Madhurapur at a cost of ₹8 crore, and another road from Farooqnagar to Chegur via Veerlapalli for ₹19.4 crore. She also initiated the construction of a BT road from Chegur to Symbiosis Road at ₹7 crore and a Gram Panchayat building in Appareddiguda village costing ₹23 lakh. Furthermore, in Madhurapur, she distributed a ₹50 crore cheque to women’s associations.

    During the event, Minister Seethakka mentioned that the government is offering ₹50 crore in interest-free loans to women, with the government covering the interest charges. She also highlighted the introduction of free bus services for women and criticized opposition leaders for spreading false claims about these services meant for economically underprivileged women. Additionally, she pointed out that while previous governments had raised the cost of cooking gas to ₹1,200, the Congress government is now providing gas cylinders for ₹500. The Minister also shared that 200 units of free electricity are being made available to households.

    Minister Seethakka explained that the government is supporting women in starting businesses such as women’s power canteens, event management services, and solar energy production units. She announced the provision of mobile fish vending vehicles to women’s associations, each costing ₹10 lakh. The government is offering these vehicles at a subsidized rate of ₹4 lakh, covering 60% of the cost. A total of 32 vehicles, one for each district, will be distributed to women’s associations. She encouraged women to take advantage of these opportunities to achieve economic growth and empowerment.

    Seethakka reiterated the Congress government’s commitment to women’s welfare and urged them to utilize these initiatives to improve their lives and contribute to the state’s development.
