Karimnagar: The State government, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, is making significant strides in addressing public issues. This was highlighted by IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu during the Independence Day celebrations on Thursday, where he also hoisted the national flag.
In Karimnagar district, 1,82,06,742 women have benefitted from free transport services provided by RTC buses, resulting in a cumulative benefit of Rs 7,268.32 for these women. Additionally, 12,969 underprivileged people received medical treatment under the Rajiv Arogyasri scheme. Between April 2024 and July 31, 2024, there were 687 normal deliveries and 1,595 surgical deliveries conducted successfully.
Minister Sridhar Babu praised the district administration, particularly the Huzurabad Area Hospital, which secured the 3rd position nationally for its excellence in quality medicine, tests, sanitation, and infection control by achieving 95 percent in these areas.
This year, the government plans to construct 4.50 lakh units of 2BHK houses under the Indiramma housing scheme. Additionally, through the Mahalakshmi scheme, 2,79,243 gas cylinders have been distributed to 1,47,084 consumers in the district.
Under the Griha Jyoti programme, 1,39,329 zero bills have been issued in Karimnagar district, benefiting 1,57,348 families. The government has provided a subsidy of Rs 223.27 lakhs under this initiative.
The State government has also made a historical move by waiving farmers’ loans up to Rs 2 lakh. In Karimnagar district, 58,317 farmers received a loan waiver totaling Rs 383.89 crore.
Through the Praja Palana programme, 3,22,264 applications have been received in the district. Each application was carefully registered online to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
The Civil Supplies Department procured 2,68,050 metric tonnes of paddy from 52,572 farmers via 321 grain purchase centers during the Yasangi season. For this procurement, Rs 590 crore was paid to the farmers through online transactions.
Furthermore, the government sanctioned Rs 1,492 crore to supply drinking water to 494 habitations under the Mission Bhagiratha scheme. With this funding, 1,232 kilometers of pipeline work has been completed, using 22 structures to deliver clean drinking water, as stated by Sridhar Babu.
