Congress gains an advantage in India Today's exit poll

The Congress party is expected to win in Telangana, preventing a third term for the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) led by K Chandrashekhar Rao. The India Today-Axis My India exit poll suggests that the Congress will win 63-73 seats, while the ruling BRS is likely to get 34-44 seats out of the 119 assemblies where voting took place. The Congress is predicted to receive 42% of the votes, while the BRS is expected to have a 36% vote share. This election has been marked by anti-incumbency, as KCR has been in power for 10 years. Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy expressed confidence in winning more than 80 seats based on the exit poll results.

The BJP is projected to receive only 14% of the votes according to the exit poll. They are expected to win 4-8 seats. Independent candidates are predicted to win 5-8 seats with an 8% vote share.
