With the election day here, the Congress war-room in Hyderabad was busy with activity. Party leaders discussed the management of the polls, gave instructions to party activists and leaders on the ground, and communicated with constituency in-charges to provide last-minute guidance. Throughout the day, leaders assessed information coming in from various constituencies, sometimes appearing cheerful and at other times displaying nervousness. They gave directions to party members in areas where they were not confident and advised them on how to handle the situation.
TPCC chief Revanth Reddy evaluated the party’s chances of winning in different constituencies and analyzed trends across different segments. He advised candidates to remain composed and turn challenges into advantages. Some leaders provided tips to these candidates and emphasized the importance of mobilizing voters and ensuring their presence at polling booths. The state leaders instructed party in-charges not to be lax in this regard.
Candidates were instructed to maintain a tight vigil at the booth level and streamline all their efforts, utilizing all available resources before polling begins. Revanth Reddy emphasized that everything from the booth level to the top level should be under their watchful eyes.
On the day of polling, party members were asked to remain alert from the beginning of the mock poll in the early morning until the sealed EVM boxes are shifted to strong rooms. The TPCC categorized constituencies as A, B, and C based on their winning chances for effective resource utilization.
All party workers were asked to stay on the ground 24/7 until polling ends and EVMs are sent to strong rooms. Revanth Reddy noted that the fact that a large number of voters were returning to their hometowns to cast their votes indicates that the winds are blowing in favor of the Congress.
