Attacks on TSRTC buses in Hyderabad continue despite warnings from the corporation. The safety of RTC staff, whose job is to protect passengers, is at risk. Drivers and conductors are regularly being assaulted through shouting, abusing, beating, and kicking. These attacks hinder their ability to perform their duties effectively. Despite officials reacting and issuing warnings, the situation remains unchanged.
Recently, a female passenger at Hayatnagar Depot-1 attacked and abused two conductors. The lady assaulted the conductor, ignoring the concerns of other passengers. RTC MD Sajjanar responded to the incident, emphasizing that drivers and conductors are the face of the RTC and should not be attacked. In Kothagudem district, they strongly condemn passengers insulting drivers and conductors, as well as attacks by auto drivers.
Similar incidents have occurred in the past, with officials issuing warnings, yet no improvement has been seen. Passengers attack for various reasons, such as not receiving stop details or insufficient responses. The Mahalakshmi scheme implemented by the Revanth government has also caused conflicts among passengers, posing a concern that personnel who have handled such situations with skill and patience are now being targeted.
