Concerns raised over voter discrepancy in Rangareddy

A concerning incident happened at a polling booth in Shadnagar, raising concerns about the electoral process. BagariBalamani, a voter, discovered that her vote had been cast by someone else with the same name. The confusion arose because both women were named Balamani.

To add to the confusion, Balamani’s husband was assigned to a different polling booth than her. Another person named Chandraiah, whose spouse was also named Balamani, was assigned to a nearby booth.

BagariBalamanicriticised the polling booth staff for their negligence, pointing out that there was not enough oversight to prevent this mix-up. She questioned the vigilance of the officials, especially when voters from adjacent booths were voting at the same time.

Balamani expressed her frustration and disappointment, highlighting the unfair treatment she experienced and raising concerns about the integrity of the electoral process. She emphasized that it is the officials’ responsibility to ensure a smooth and error-free voting experience for every citizen.

In response to the incident, officials assured Balamani that they would resolve the issue within four hours.
