Collectors Forced to Pour Milk on CM’s Portrait: BRS Claims

Hyderabad: BRS leader Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said on Friday that the government had only completed 20 percent of the loan waiver program. He mentioned that when no farmers came forward to pour milk, district collectors were instructed to pour milk on a portrait of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Speaking at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Rajeshwar Reddy questioned why the Chief Minister did not fulfill his promise of waiving off Rs 2 lakh loans at once. He pointed out that when the BRS implemented the Rs 1 lakh loan waiver scheme, it cost Rs 16,000 crore.

Rajeshwar Reddy expressed disbelief that the expenditure for the same in the Congress government has dropped to just Rs 6,000 crore. He criticized the government for skipping Rythu Bharosa funds and using them for loan waivers instead. He urged the CM not to insult farmers by making statements about using taxpayers’ money for loan waivers.

The BRS leader also claimed that former minister T Harish Rao would resign if all the 13 assurances within the six guarantees were implemented. He challenged Harish Rao to step down if all promises made until August 15 were fulfilled. Additionally, he questioned why Revanth Reddy did not retire from politics after losing the election in Kodangal, despite having made such a vow.
