Collector Uday Kumar warns of strict action against gender determination cases

In Nagarkurnool, District Collector P. Uday Kumar instructed officials to work towards achieving gender equality and increasing the number of girls in society. He also emphasized the need to take legal action against those who discriminate based on gender.

Collector Uday Kumar conducted a review meeting with officials from the Medical Health Department and ICDS on PC PNDT (Abolition of Prenatal Diagnosis Test) and the District Level Multi Member Appropriate Authority (DLMMAA) committee at IDOC conference hall. During the meeting, he expressed his goal of reducing gender disparity and increasing the percentage of girls in society. He stressed the importance of enforcing legal penalties against those who perform pregnancy tests and conducting inspections in private hospitals and scanning centers to prevent gender determination tests. The aim is to increase the number of normal deliveries in private hospitals and achieve a healthier gender ratio in the district.

The Collector also directed medical officers to monitor abortions in the district regularly and take strict action against any violations of the law. Private hospitals must be registered, and licenses should be renewed periodically. Additional Collector Kumar Deepak, DMHO Sudhakar Lal, Child Protection Chairman Lakshmana Rao, and doctors from private and government hospitals attended the meeting.

In line with these directives, images related to the meeting were shared, emphasizing the importance of promoting gender equality and protecting the rights of all individuals.
