Collector RV Karnan states Dalit Bandhu program generates 1,000 industrialists in Karimnagar

The Dalit Bandhu scheme has helped 1,000 dalits become industrialists in Karimnagar district. The District Collector, RV Karnan, shared this news at a programme held on Tuesday to celebrate Telangana Formation Day. The government has sanctioned Rs 2,000 crores for the scheme and Rs 400 to 500 crores for other schemes every year. The Rythu Bandhu and Dalit Bandhu schemes were introduced in Karimnagar for the first time in Telangana.

Karnan said that the district would facilitate the establishment of industries that support its development through TS-iPASS. This would cover industries, hospitals, hotels and other business sectors. Many industries have already been established in the district and they have achieved remarkable development. The handloom workers will also receive support.

The Collector also participated in the Telangana Industrial Progress Festival organised at Granite Association office. He said that the granite business started small in Karimnagar district in 2002 and has now grown exponentially. By 2023, it will be doing business at the national and international level. It is currently providing employment to around 15,000 to 20,000 people from Telangana and other states.

Karnan emphasised that the government cannot make progress alone; the support of the industry is essential.
