District Collector Sikta Patnaik visited the proposed construction sites for new Mandal Complex buildings in Kottapally and Gundumal on Tuesday. She was accompanied by Special Officer Venkat Reddy. Each complex is expected to cost ₹8.80 crore.
In Kottapally Mandal, officials selected a 1,000-square-yard site near the mandal headquarters for the project. The Collector reviewed the location and examined the building design. She also asked officials about the road connectivity from the main road to the complex.
Later, the Collector visited Gundumal Mandal, where the complex will be built on a two-acre site next to the Primary Health Center (PHC). Officials informed her that rock formations on the land would need to be cleared before starting construction. They also suggested using the remaining land to build a junior college.
During her visit, the Collector also inspected the ongoing Gundumal-Lingal Ched BT Road works. She instructed PRED (Panchayat Raj Engineering Department) officer Heerya Naik to speed up the remaining work.
Several officials, including Tehsildars Jayaprakash and Bhaskara Swamy, MPDOs of both mandals, and other concerned officers, were present during the inspection.
