District Collector Hanumanth Rao, along with Additional Collector (Local Bodies) Gangadhar, made a surprise visit to Yavapur Thanda in Bommalaramaram Mandal on Thursday. As they walked through the village, the Collector spoke with the tribal residents and listened to their concerns. Several issues were raised, and he took immediate action to resolve them.
One major problem residents faced was frequent low-voltage, which damaged household appliances. To fix this, the Collector ordered the installation of a 25 KV transformer. The foundation was completed the same day, and the installation was scheduled for the next day. He also instructed officials to restore high-mast streetlights, improve sanitation, and provide electricity poles and cable wires for five houses.
The Collector also focused on agriculture and encouraged farmers to start organic vegetable farming. He explained that organic farming would improve their health and increase their income. To support this, he contacted Organic Scientist Rajender Reddy to train and guide the farmers. Additionally, he ordered water connections for houses that did not have a proper supply.
During the visit, a long-pending land dispute of a local resident was resolved on the spot. The Collector also addressed delays in road construction and directed officials to speed up the widening of the road from Khajipet to Thoomkunta Crossroads. In a kind gesture, he helped a needy elderly woman by arranging a bed with a mattress for her through donor support.
