District Collector and District Election Officer (DEO), G Ravi Nayak, spoke about the important role of presiding officers and assistant presiding officers during elections. The training program took place in Mahabubnagar at the NIC meeting hall within the integrated district officers’ complex. The focus of the training was on the significance of the polling day.
Nayak emphasized the need to thoroughly understand and follow the guidelines outlined by the Election Commission in their handbook. He stressed the importance of strict compliance with the new rules and regulations set by the Election Commission, emphasizing that there should be no negligence.
The collector instructed officials to maintain a checklist of tasks to be completed on the polling day and the day before. He emphasized that duties should be carried out accordingly and every task should be taken care of.
Nayak specifically highlighted the importance of presiding officers familiarizing themselves with the materials to be taken during polling, the maintenance of EVMs, the marked copy of the voter list, their duties, and other essential information related to the polling station.
He also emphasized the need for accurate reporting of the polling percentage every two hours on the polling day. Nayak instructed the training nodal officer and DEO Ravinder to provide additional training to the master trainers.
The training program was attended by Devarakadra Returning Officer, Special Collector Nataraj, Deputy CEO Munni, and other officials.
