Wanaparthy: District Collector Adarsh Surabhi has stressed the need for students to develop skills in coding and technology, especially with the rapid advancements in the tech world.
On Friday, a Coding School was launched at the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Gopalpet Mandal. The initiative, led by the Newton School of Technology, was inaugurated by Additional Collector (Local Bodies) Sanchit Gangwar along with the District Collector.
The programme is designed specifically for 9th-grade students, offering lessons in Python coding. To support this, the classroom has been equipped with computers and a digital board, enabling a modern and interactive learning experience.
District Collector Adarsh Surabhi emphasized the importance of starting technical education at an early age. The coding programme will be conducted online over three months, with live streaming classes. Students can also interact with trainers to clarify their doubts during these sessions.
The Collector urged students to take full advantage of the initiative and work towards mastering programming. After completing the three-month course, students will receive certificates, and those who excel will have the chance to participate in internships.
In addition to launching the Coding School, the Collector inspected the school’s cooking supplies storage area. He checked the quality of the supplies and instructed that all items should be unloaded in the presence of students and properly documented in registers. He also emphasized that meals should be both tasty and safe, ensuring that supervisors taste the food before it is served to students.
The event was attended by various officials, including DEO Abdul Ghani, District Agriculture Officer Govind Naik, DYSCO Shubhalakshmi, Tahsildar Tilak Reddy, MPDO, MEO, school staff, and others.
