Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Launches Major Welfare Schemes in Telangana
On January 26, during Republic Day celebrations, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy introduced four major welfare schemes aimed at improving the lives of the state’s residents. These initiatives include Rythu Bharosa, Rythu Aathmiya Bharosa, Indiramma Houses, and the distribution of new ration cards. The launch event was held in the Kodangal Legislative Assembly constituency.
Since banks were closed on Republic Day, the Chief Minister announced that financial assistance under the Rythu Bharosa scheme would begin after midnight. Farmers would receive Rs 6,000 per acre as part of this program.
The official rollout of these welfare initiatives took place in Chandravanch village, located in Kosgi Mandal of Narayanpet district. During the event, the Chief Minister handed over documents to selected beneficiaries, symbolizing the launch of the schemes. He assured that all eligible residents across Telangana would be included in these programs.
Chief Minister Reddy highlighted that effective governance involves bringing the government closer to the people. He explained that officials have been assigned to visit villages to address public grievances and gather data directly. “Officials are here to understand your issues. Some may try to create confusion, but please provide them with accurate information,” he urged.
A significant announcement included the construction of 4,50,000 Indiramma Houses by March 31. The government has allocated Rs 22,500 crore for this initiative, with each constituency receiving 3,500 houses to address housing needs in the state.
The Chief Minister also emphasized ongoing welfare measures, such as loan waivers, job creation for the unemployed, free public transport for women, subsidized gas cylinders, and free electricity up to 200 units for low-income households. He stated that these programs are just the beginning, with more support planned for marginalized communities.
Under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, farmers will receive Rs 12,000 per acre annually, amounting to Rs 20,000 crore each year. Similarly, the Indiramma Aathmiya Bharosa initiative will provide Rs 12,000 annually to Dalits, Tribals, and backward classes, benefiting nearly 10 lakh families in the state.
For the first time in years, government officials are actively visiting villages to distribute ration cards and collect data to implement welfare schemes effectively. This new governance model aims to ensure that public representatives are directly engaged with the communities they serve.
The launch event was attended by several public representatives, Telangana’s Chief Secretary, and senior officials. These welfare initiatives are expected to significantly improve the living conditions of marginalized communities across the state.
