Hyderabad: Congress Government Driving Hyderabad’s Development
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the newly constructed Aramgarh-Zoo Park flyover in Hyderabad, emphasizing Congress’ role in the city’s growth. The 4-km-long flyover has been named after former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, a gesture that was warmly appreciated by the audience. Reddy highlighted Congress’ legacy of infrastructure development, recalling the construction of the 11-km-long PV Narasimha Rao flyover during Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s tenure, and stated that the legacy continues with this new project.
Focus on Infrastructure
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of Hyderabad’s development for Telangana’s progress. He outlined several initiatives, including road expansion, metro rail development, clean drinking water projects through the Godavari River, and the revival of the Musi River. Addressing traffic congestion, public safety, and youth employment were also highlighted as key priorities. During the event, he inaugurated a ₹301-crore sewage project in the Chandrayangutta constituency, further showcasing the government’s commitment to improving basic urban infrastructure.
Collaboration for Progress
CM Revanth Reddy emphasized the need for collaboration in Hyderabad’s development. Announcing plans to work with the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), he said, “Elections are for politics; post-elections, it’s all about progress. Together, we will transform Hyderabad.” He also discussed long-pending projects like the Charlapalli Railway Terminal, which is now being developed into a major railway hub under his leadership. Additionally, Reddy urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to approve the second phase of Hyderabad Metro, stalled for over a decade.
Vision for the Future
The Chief Minister underscored the importance of new infrastructure projects, such as the proposed Regional Ring Road, which would complement the Outer Ring Road and boost Telangana’s growth. He also mentioned plans for a regional railway network and new rail lines like the Vikarabad-Kodangal-Krishna route, with proposals already submitted to the central government. Reddy announced an upcoming meeting with AIMIM MPs, MLAs, and MLCs to discuss Hyderabad’s future development. “Hyderabad is not an old city; it is the original city. Our government will prioritize its development,” he affirmed.
A Global Model for Urban Development
The event was attended by several prominent leaders, including Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, local MLAs, and the city’s Mayor. CM Revanth Reddy concluded by sharing the Congress government’s vision of making Hyderabad a global model of sustainable and inclusive development through urban renewal and collaborative efforts.
