CM Revanth Reddy Confirms Congress and AIMIM Team-Up for Hyderabad's Growth

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has officially announced an alliance between the Congress and AIMIM parties to focus on the development of Hyderabad. The announcement was made during the inauguration of the Aramghar flyover. Revanth Reddy emphasized that the partnership aims to prioritize the city’s progress, setting aside political differences. While elections may bring political rivalry, he said, the current goal is to concentrate on Hyderabad’s infrastructure growth.

The Chief Minister assured citizens that this collaboration is centered on improving the city and its welfare. He expressed his willingness to work with AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, stating, “I am willing to collaborate with anyone for the betterment of Hyderabad.” During the event, Reddy also announced that the newly inaugurated Aramghar flyover would be named after former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Looking ahead, Revanth Reddy shared plans for several major projects aimed at boosting Hyderabad’s development. These include constructing a second cable bridge over the Mir Alam tank, modeled after the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge, and laying the foundation for a new building for Osmania General Hospital within the next week.

To push these plans forward, a significant meeting is scheduled for January 11 or 12 at the Secretariat. The meeting will bring together AIMIM MLAs, MLCs, and leaders from Hyderabad’s old city. Discussions will focus on development plans and identifying the necessary funding for the joint Congress-AIMIM efforts to enhance the city’s infrastructure.

Earlier, AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi praised Revanth Reddy for visiting his former Cherlapally jail mate, Nagayya, as part of his New Year gestures. Owaisi humorously reflected on his own 50-day imprisonment in 1998, saying such experiences give politicians a better understanding of the struggles faced by ordinary people.

This Congress-AIMIM alliance is being viewed as a strategic partnership aimed at fostering Hyderabad’s growth. By working together, the two parties hope to address the city’s infrastructure needs and improve the quality of life for its residents.
