Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has urged the film industry to play a more active role in addressing social issues. Speaking at a public event, he stressed that Tollywood has a powerful influence and should use it to create awareness about societal problems through meaningful and impactful films.
Revanth Reddy expressed confidence in his standing, saying, “All the current heroes have grown in stature before my eyes. If someone forgets my name, I don’t feel offended. My stature is beyond such trivialities.” His remarks were directed at critics, highlighting his self-assurance.
The Chief Minister also spoke about the importance of countering false narratives. He called on prominent Tollywood figures to take a stand against misinformation and support the truth. “It is the responsibility of prominent personalities in Tollywood to condemn false propaganda,” he said.
In a show of support for the film industry, Revanth announced that the government is ready to provide land for film associations to expand their activities. He encouraged collaboration between the industry and the government, adding, “The film industry must collaborate with us to address pressing social issues.”
These comments come at a time when Tollywood is being scrutinized for its role in shaping public opinion. Revanth’s call for socially responsible filmmaking and closer cooperation with the government could signal a shift toward a more impactful and conscious cinema in Telangana.
