Hyderabad: CM Revanth Reddy Takes Steps to Support Tribal Communities

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to address the concerns of tribal communities in Telangana. During a special meeting with tribal associations and public representatives at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat, he assured immediate action to resolve their issues.

Tribal representatives raised several key concerns, including access to education, employment opportunities, roads, transportation, agriculture, and clean drinking water. The CM reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring justice and fostering the development of tribal communities.

Key Directives Issued by the CM

1. Komaram Bheem Celebrations:
The CM instructed officials to officially observe the birth and death anniversaries of tribal leader Komaram Bheem with respect and grandeur.

2. Indiramma Housing Scheme:
A special quota-based allocation of houses will be implemented in ITDA (Integrated Tribal Development Agency) regions to support tribal families.

3. Free Borewells and Solar Pumps:
Under the Indira Jalaprabha program, tribal farmers will receive free borewells and solar pump sets to support agricultural activities.

4. Drinking Water Supply:
The government will take immediate steps to resolve drinking water issues in tribal hamlets to ensure access to clean water.

5. Indravelli Martyrs' Memorial:
The Indravelli Martyrs’ Memorial will be developed into a memorial park, and housing will be provided to the families of the martyrs.

Additional Initiatives for Tribal Welfare

1. Education in Tribal Languages:
The CM directed officials to explore introducing primary education in Gondi and other native tribal languages.

2. Study Circle for Tribal Students:
A dedicated study circle with modern facilities will be set up to help tribal students prepare for competitive exams.

3. Overseas Scholarships:
Pending bills for overseas scholarships awarded to tribal students will be cleared promptly to ensure their education is not disrupted.

4. Employment Opportunities:
Recruitment for teaching and non-teaching staff in B.Ed. colleges located in tribal areas will begin soon.

Preserving Heritage and Providing Justice

1. Cultural Preservation:
The government will conduct a study to build tribal cultural centers and allocate funds for events like Keslapur Jathara to promote tribal heritage.

2. Legal Relief:
Efforts will be made to withdraw cases filed against tribal individuals during protests and movements, providing legal relief to those affected.

Commitment to Tribal Development

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Minister Dhanasari Seethakka, CM’s Advisor Ven Narender Reddy, MLA Vedma Bojju, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, and other senior leaders. Tribal representatives such as Atram Sakku and Godam Ganesh presented their demands and suggestions during the discussions.

The Telangana government has reaffirmed its dedication to addressing the challenges faced by tribal communities and ensuring their socio-economic growth through these initiatives.
