Speaking at the ‘Global Madiga Day’ celebrations held on Saturday, the Chief Minister highlighted efforts to increase Madiga representation in key positions. He mentioned that Dr. Sangeeta has been appointed to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). Additionally, a scholar from the Madiga community has been made the Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University. The CM further noted that the Madiga community has also been given significant roles in education. For instance, a member of the community was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of IIT and included in the Education Commission for Higher Education. Furthermore, Pagidi Pati Devaiah has been nominated as the Director of the Skill University Board. Revanth Reddy emphasized that the government has been proactive in providing these opportunities, even before specific demands were made.

Chief Minister Reddy also highlighted the Congress-led government’s efforts in addressing SC categorisation issues. He revealed that lawyers, under the leadership of Damodar Rajanarsimha, were appointed to present strong arguments in the Supreme Court case on SC categorisation. He credited the state government for playing a significant role in the Supreme Court’s judgment on the matter.

To ensure proper implementation of the court’s orders, a cabinet sub-committee, led by N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, was formed to study the issue and avoid legal complications. A judicial commission was also established to submit a detailed report within 60 days. The CM shared that the commission is likely to submit its report within a week. He assured the community that the government would ensure justice and provide them with their rightful share.

Revanth Reddy concluded by acknowledging the important role the Madiga community has played in his political journey and reiterated his commitment to their welfare.
