The Chief Minister of Hyderabad, A Revanth Reddy, announced that the State government will soon make a decision regarding 1100 retired employees in different departments. He emphasized the importance of maintaining unions for employees in various departments during a meeting with government employees, teachers, and labor unions at MHRD. The CM acknowledged that these groups have not had the opportunity to address their issues for the past decade and assured them that the government is committed to solving their problems.
In a subtle criticism of BRS and its leader K Chandrashekar Rao, Revanth Reddy pointed out the lack of union heads in various departments, with only KCR’s family members holding honorary positions for years. He emphasized the need for discussions rather than restrictions to address problems. The CM also mentioned the government’s responsibility to provide free electricity to government schools and colleges, as well as the recruitment of lower-level staff in these institutions.
Revanth Reddy highlighted the sacrifices made by students, employees, teachers, and labor unions in the formation of Telangana, contrasting it with KCR’s claims of achieving statehood without bloodshed. He emphasized the importance of respecting the spirit of Telangana and criticized the previous government’s reliance on liquor revenue. The CM expressed confidence in Congress’s ability to stay in power for a decade and called for respect for democracy.
He mentioned the formation of a ministerial sub-committee to address department-specific issues and stated that a decision on the continuation of 1100 retired employees will be made soon. Revanth Reddy also discussed plans to make Kodandaram an MLC and promised to consider employee DA adjustments in the cabinet.
