CM accuses KCR of neglecting his constituency

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy criticized opposition leader K Chandrasekhar Rao for neglecting his responsibilities. He said that KCR had abandoned both his constituency and the state.

Speaking during a discussion on the Governor’s address, Revanth Reddy pointed out that KCR had attended the Assembly only twice in the last 15 months. Despite receiving a salary of ₹57 lakh, KCR had not participated in any discussions or debates.

Addressing recent comments, the CM clarified that he had not personally attacked anyone but had only stated that the BRS party was declining. He said he respected the former CM and wished for him to continue as opposition leader for the next 20 to 30 years. He encouraged KCR to attend Assembly sessions, participate in discussions on key issues like agriculture and Krishna water, and provide suggestions to improve governance.

Revanth Reddy accused KCR and Harish Rao of compromising Telangana’s interests in favor of Andhra Pradesh. He asserted that the Congress government was now fighting for the state’s rightful share of water. He also said he was willing to apologize if his statements were proven wrong.

The CM criticized the BRS for focusing on his trips to Delhi instead of tracking the government’s progress. He emphasized the importance of maintaining good relations between the central and state governments, as outlined in the Constitution. He added that the Prime Minister is like an elder brother to any Chief Minister.

Revanth Reddy explained that his visits to Delhi were meant to address Telangana’s concerns with the central government. He praised Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for agreeing to transfer defence lands in Hyderabad to the state.

The CM expressed disappointment that both social media and BRS leaders mocked his statement about the Prime Minister. He revealed that during his meeting with Narendra Modi, he had formally requested support for Hyderabad to host the 2036 Olympics.
