BRS senior leader and former minister Jupally Krishna Rao has joined the Congress party. He made this decision in the presence of AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge in New Delhi.
Jupally Krishna Rao previously served as the Industries minister in Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s cabinet in 2014. He was also given the responsibility to look after BRS party affairs in old Mahbubnagar.
However, Jupally had been keeping his distance from the ruling party ever since his rival leader, Kollapur MLA B Harshvardhan Reddy, gained importance in the party in the Assembly Constituency.
Now, Krishna Rao and his supporters have joined the Congress. Party leaders have stated that he will receive a prominent position within the party and will be given a party ticket to contest from his assembly segment in the upcoming Assembly elections.
TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy has assured that all the leaders who have joined Congress will be given priority within the party. He also claimed that there are more senior BRS leaders who are in contact with Congress and will soon join the party as well.
