City sees mixed response to student bandh

A bandh was called by student organizations in Hyderabad on Thursday, but most schools and colleges in the city remained open. Some private schools and colleges chose to close for the day, while government schools operated as usual.

Many school managements informed parents on Wednesday night about closures due to the bandh. However, government schools continued regular classes despite the bandh.

Various student unions like NSUI, SFI, AISF, PDSU, VJS, DYFI, AIYF, PYL, PYC, YJS, and AIPSU called for a Bharat bandh to protest against the National Testing Agency (NTA). They were unhappy with the irregularities in the NEET exam and the postponement of the NET exam. The student organizations demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the abolition of the NTA.

The students feel that their concerns have not been addressed by the government. They believe that candidates who suffered due to exam cancellations and irregularities should be compensated for their exam fees. The student unions also called for the cancellation of the NTA and for each state to conduct its own exams. If Central Ministers do not respond, they plan to block the Ministers and organize a protest in Delhi.
