Citizens Struggle with LRS Application Errors, Demand Correction Option

0

Hyderabad, March 30, 2025 – Many applicants under the 2020 Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS) are facing difficulties due to errors in their applications, with no option to make corrections on the LRS portal. With the March 31 deadline for the 25% concession offer fast approaching, citizens are urging the government to introduce a modification feature to rectify mistakes in village names, survey numbers, mandals, and other key details.

Proceedings Issued with Incorrect Details

In many cases, LRS proceedings are being issued with incorrect details, as the system directly pulls information from applications submitted in 2020. A citizen who recently received proceedings with a wrong village name visited the municipal office to request a correction, but officials refused, stating that no option is available for modifications.

Errors Blamed on Lack of Digital Awareness

A significant number of applications in 2020 were filled out by internet café operators or agents on behalf of applicants who were not well-versed with the online process. This has resulted in various errors, leaving many property owners struggling to get their details corrected.

Demand for LRS Portal Update

Citizens are urging the Telangana government to introduce a module on the LRS portal that allows applicants to update incorrect details in proceedings. Without this option, many genuine applicants may face serious issues in the future regarding their property regularization.

Will the Government Extend the Deadline?

Meanwhile, several MLAs have urged the government to extend the LRS payment deadline due to ongoing technical and application-related issues. Reports suggest that the government may extend the deadline until April 30, providing applicants with more time to make payments and resolve concerns.

With the deadline approaching, citizens await an official response from the authorities regarding both an extension and the much-needed correction feature.
