In the districts of Sirsilla, Peddapalli, and Jagtial, churches were beautifully illuminated with dazzling electric lights. Christians across the world are preparing to celebrate Christmas on Wednesday, honoring their belief that Jesus Christ, seen as God incarnate, was born to bring light and hope to those living in darkness.

Special prayers and cake-cutting ceremonies were held in various prayer halls throughout the district. At Lourdes Mata Church, Roman Catholics gathered at midnight for grand celebrations of the birth of Baby Jesus. A special service was conducted by the Father, who delivered an inspiring message. Hymns were sung by a choir, and Christmas cake was distributed to attendees, enhancing the joy of the occasion.

Believers reflect on Jesus Christ’s life, seeing him as the embodiment of God who came to cleanse humanity of sin and lead them toward peace and salvation. According to Christian teachings, Jesus was born in Bethlehem to the Virgin Mary, a carpenter’s family. His birth was marked by a shining star in the sky. Despite living only 33 and a half years, Jesus became a guiding figure for countless believers through his teachings of peace, compassion, and sacrifice. He is remembered for healing the sick, comforting the suffering, and ultimately sacrificing his life to alleviate humanity’s pain. Christians believe that by following his path of love, forgiveness, and harmony, one’s spiritual journey will be safe and fulfilling.

Christmas also brings joy to homes, with families decorating their houses and prayer halls. People wear new clothes, and the tradition of setting up Christmas trees adds a festive touch. This custom dates back to the 15th century when German philosopher Martin Luther admired the beauty of the sky on Christmas Eve. Today, Christmas trees are a cherished symbol of the season, adorning homes and churches alike.

The historical significance of the festival is evident in Karimnagar’s churches. A CSI Church near the SP office, built during the British era, stands as a reminder of the region’s Christian heritage. Its construction began in 1904 and was completed in 1912. Similarly, the CSI Centenary Wesley Church in Christian Colony was built in a modern style, starting in 1988 and completed in 1998 at a cost of Rs. 1 crore. Other prominent churches in the city include Lurthu Matha and St. Mark’s churches.

The celebrations in Karimnagar reflect the universal message of love, peace, and hope that Christmas brings to people worldwide.
