Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Bhongir on Thursday to campaign for the upcoming elections. He stated that the 2024 elections will be a showdown between Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi, with the themes of ‘Vote for Vikas’ versus ‘Vote for Jihad’. Shah also highlighted the contrast between Rahul Gandhi’s Chinese guarantee and Narendra Modi’s Bharat guarantee.

During an election rally in Bhongir, Shah criticized the Congress, BRS, and AIMIM parties, labeling them as a triangle of appeasement. He mentioned how these parties oppose events like Ram Navami procession and Hyderabad Liberation Day, while also expressing their opposition to the CAA. Shah emphasized the importance of voting for the BJP to help reach their goal of securing 400 seats in the Lok Sabha.

Shah pointed out that the BJP had won four out of 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana in 2019, and predicted that they would win more than 10 seats in the current elections. He dismissed Congress’ allegations about BJP changing the Constitution and abolishing reservations, accusing Congress of spreading lies to win elections. Shah also criticized Congress in Telangana for allegedly favoring Muslims over SC, ST, and OBCs in terms of reservations.

The BJP manifesto underlines Modi’s guarantees to deliver on promises made, contrasting this with what Shah described as Rahul Gandhi’s unfulfilled promises. He listed several promises made by Rahul Gandhi regarding farm loans, financial support for farmers and students, among others, which he claimed have not been kept.

Shah labeled Congress, BRS, and AIMIM as a triangle representing corruption, appeasement, and family-centered politics. He highlighted the initiatives taken by the BJP for Bhongir’s development, such as the textile policy covering production to exports and the PLI scheme benefiting weavers. Shah also criticized BRS for allegedly focusing on one family’s well-being despite their promises for overall development in Telangana during their time in power.
