Nagar Kurnool: The Children’s Day celebration was held with great enthusiasm on Thursday at the district center. During the event, a tribute was paid to the portrait of Jawaharlal Nehru. District Chief Judge D. Rajesh Babu attended the celebration, which was organized by Nyaya Seva Sadan at the Zilla Parishad Boys’ High School.
Judge Rajesh Babu spoke about the importance of children’s rights and emphasized that it is everyone’s responsibility to protect them. He urged students to remember the toll-free number 15100, which provides free legal services.
Following the guidelines of the State Legal Services Authority, several initiatives have been launched in the district to improve legal awareness. The Chief Judge mentioned that legal awareness seminars are being conducted in villages, and he encouraged those with legal issues to contact the District Legal Services Authority for help.
Judge Rajesh Babu also stressed the importance of ensuring children’s rights, safety, education, nutrition, and overall well-being until they grow into adolescents. He called on parents, teachers, and the government to work together to protect these rights. He also advised students to enjoy their childhood and focus on building a bright future, while reminding teachers to treat all students equally without any discrimination.
Senior Principal Civil Judge Sabitha shared her thoughts on the importance of childhood in shaping the future. She encouraged students to concentrate on their studies and avoid wasting time. District Education Officer (DEO) Govindarajulu advised students to stay away from excessive use of cell phones and social media, and to focus on their future. He also wished all students a happy National Children’s Day.
As part of the celebration, the District Legal Services Authority organized various sports and art competitions, including kabaddi, kho-kho, cricket, essay writing, and drawing. The winners were awarded prizes by District Judge Rajesh Reddy, Principal Senior Civil Judge Sabitha, DEO Govindarajulu, and other dignitaries.
The event was attended by several officials and dignitaries, including Government Pleader Brahmeshwar Rao, Free Legal Counsel Advocate Madhusudhan Rao, Nagarkurnool CI Kanakayya Goud, Mandal Education Officer Bhaskar Reddy, school principal Latha, Bar Association Secretary Parvath Reddy, and various advocates, teachers, and students from local schools.
