Over two days, Thursday and Friday, the committee members underwent detailed training. They learned about the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act (JJP Act), the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the responsibilities of Child Welfare Committees (CWCs), the role of DLSA in supporting victims, and the responsibilities of Women and Child Welfare organizations.

District Judge D. Rajesh Babu stressed the importance of working voluntarily and without errors to bring recognition to the district. He highlighted that children under 18, whether victims, witnesses, or involved in unlawful activities, should always be treated with respect. He urged the committee to provide services in a friendly and supportive manner.

The judge also encouraged using government programs like Ujwala Sakhi, She Team, Bharosa, and Bala Sadan to promote the development and well-being of children in need.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rameshwar emphasized that children must never be handcuffed or kept in police stations overnight. He also directed that police personnel in uniform should avoid directly dealing with children in sensitive situations.

JJB Board Member Girija Preeti reminded everyone of society’s role in protecting vulnerable groups, including children, women, the elderly, and differently-abled individuals. She stressed that support should go beyond material help and include verbal and moral encouragement.

This initiative aims to ensure a safer and more supportive environment for children in Nagarkurnool, while also fostering cooperation between legal and welfare organizations.
